The Camel Tamer

"I also have a novel in the works called The Camel Tamer.  I am working on revisions.  You could say it is a hunt for a terrorist narrative within a coming of age story.  I am striving for a tragic/comic effect and my two main characters, a hardened Mossad agent and an innocent American kid, are polar opposites.  Most of the story takes place in Jerusalem and other places in Israel." -HS

"A relationship between an American youth on the cusp of manhood and an Israeli agent haunted by loss of his son in a suicide bombing unfolds amidst the dangerous powder keg of the Middle East, A gorgeously written novel about finding your home, your people, and your truest self, all against a backdrop of loss, terror, love and family. Audaciously, important, and the best adjective of all--unforgettable."

Caroline Leavitt, New York Times Bestselling Author of Pictures of You, and Cruel Beautiful World

"I’m still writing my novel and am actually finishing it now. But there is some relationship [between poetry and novel-writing] even though they are different forms. They are related in that they have an acuity for language. There is a sensitivity to language and to honing things down to their essentials...I like poetry, but my first endeavor was the novel, so I’ve gone back to that. I’m hoping that it will be published." -HS
